The interview with the guy was so shady ‘well, we don’t own the copyright but we’ve got the tapes so we want to come to an arrangement with the family and btw this one song is probably the greatest thing he ever wrote, he probably just forgot to release it’

He also lived in a bread van for a while, running away from the taxman and the coke man. Apparently he got really into hardcore S&M comics when he was in Belgium, his flatmate said ‘this is sexual hurting, you need sexual healing’ - and you can guess the rest.

Ha amazing!

Recall a lively ‘furore’ on Gilles P’s forum a few years back when Mr Beatnick put out some Marvin Gaye edits IIRC without clearing with the estate. Back when edits were an ethical hot potato
