I loved this. I’m proud to have a copy of Kerri Chandler’s Atmosphere that used to be owned by Timmy Regisford and is marked BAD by the man. Tom Noble bought a bunch of records from Timmy’s aunt who stored them for him and sold them at Superior Elevation for regular prices. If only I’d known before (he told me later about the markings) I’d have bought many many more.

So many great records on those pics too. Thanks for posting.

Just finished Chris Blackwell’s memoir ‘The Islander’. Very interesting read! What a life…

mark e quark (awesome dj and super nice guy) can be spotted in this crowd.

This is my world. Scotty used to moderate Francois’s K Wave Music board along with the JBL heritage site for all things high end audio. The tech talk forum contents is saved, I did spend some time with a RLA system last year (Eldorado is actually a replica although built on those principles).

Scotty was always right when it came to disco sound. There are a few of us in the UK too.

I see this is getting a lot of hysteria across the socials this week. I actually found it pretty well written, albeit the prose is a little OTT in places. Quite an interesting peek into the life of a business techno megastar. What really struck me though is that there really is a lot of sillyness associated with mixing two records together. Fair play to Solomun for absolutely rinsing it. Also, FIFTY THOUSAND Euros for a VIP space in Pacha!? Get the fuck out of town

50k tickets wow, wonder how much he gets then, could retire on one nights graft I bet. I don’t mind him tbh, way worse people out there.

edit: Actually only listened/watched to one of his sets at Destino, wasn’t awful.

The article alludes to €2mil for 20 shows at Pacha in 2013. Imagine what it is now…

His neon/ dynamic night at Sankeys In Ibiza was brilliant and short lived, I think pacha signed him up then…
His old radio show was great

Don’t think I’ve ever read a more New Yorker sentence than this one
Explaining the gap between, say, deep-house and tech-house can make one feel like Polonius offering Hamlet actors for “pastoral-comical,” “historical-pastoral,” “tragical-historical,” and “tragical-comical-historical-pastoral” plays.

did someone on this forum link this already? i had forgotten about it.

arguably my favorite “rock band” - one of my greatest regrets is skipping the cocteau twins/galaxie 500 show in seattle way back when, i figured at the time i’d just catch them on the next tour.
