Holiday flat in Falmouth had a copy of Man in the High Castle (Philip K Dick), devoured it in a couple of days.

Mesmerising read but/and very weird indeed. Started the TV series too.

I have it on the shelf but have always skipped it for something else. A good read?

His only other book I’ve read was Valis which was bonkers but good (I think lol)

Your post just reminded me that I read Man In The High Castle about 10 years ago, can’t remember a thing about the plot though.

It’s a great book. Was very excited about the TV series when it was announced, only to be disappointed. And bored.

yeah, I was quite intrigued to see how they’d done it, which as it turns out, was by not doing it

I do feel for anyone trying to adapt a much-loved book for screen as they’re on a bit of hiding to nothing with fans of the original. That said, it was shite and I struggled to make it through a couple of episodes - and I’ll usually watch any old crap.

Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep is another great Philip K Dick book that is nothing like the movie (Blade Runner), but one that I’d highly recommend.

If you like his stuff, can recommend Exhalation by Ted Chiang (a compilation of Novellas). Completely original and engaging scifi.

Never seen before footage from Spike Island being made into a documentary. Some chap filmed the whole thing and stored it away all these years.

Lovely little book about creativity, a bit like Rick Rubin but less abstraction, more examples & inspiration

(Not really about design, and I’m not a designer anyway)
