Been listening to these 2 this morning, looking out my kitchen window, on a bright, breezy morning, onto the Green in front of my house, watching the Magpies sprucing up their nest for Spring which is in one of the trees on the Green, i’ve watched them do this every year since i’ve lived here.
The tree is one of 10, all now with the red ring of death marked on them.
The builders and workmen arrive tomorrow morning to chop them all down and dig up the Green to make way for new housing

That’s grim, there is a lane to where we live once lined with ancient Oak, if you arrived late you’d often disturb an Owl or two flying low in the twilight. Came home one day and they’d all been chopped down for the local Farmers winter firewood. Still hate him to this day. I feel ya!
