That story he told on his Instagram account about nicking Mark Ronson’s headphones years ago because his manager was such a nob then asking him to buy them back and donate the money to the NHS! The fact he actually took him up on it and donated the cash was brilliant
First record of the day. Welcome to the weekend
Just picked this up, fantastic Japanese early 80s record produced by Haruomi Hosono. Quite unclassifiable in a good way, the kind of thing that I hadn’t heard of until yesterday and which makes me love collecting vinyl.
Right now, Gilles Peterson on 6. But this week I’ve had 3 mixes on rotation (I think one of them was linked by someone on here.
This one has a great pace to it

This has some classics on it and has fitted the mood this week (plus the “twist in the fabric of space” makes me think of early photek)

Last but not least this does what it says on the tin (& what I needed this week)

In a reissue market so flooded with crap, exoticized mediocrities, and common records in orange swirly fucking vinyl editions no one asked for it’s good to know that people still get around to releasing actual god-level music once in a while.
Mood: never not in awe of these dudes
I had that earlier. I used the link icon instead of just pasting it in the message and it worked.
Thanks. I’ll give that a punt.
Magic. That worked. Hopefully people get enjoyment out of those mixes!
Played this for a friend his first time hearing it.

I’ve never really been one for House/Dance Music albums. Dont know why but I find House works so well as stand alone 12" tracks but rarely fits comfortably on an album for me.
But this is an example of a House album that clicks with me.
Im going to play the album end to end and right now Im on Psychotic Particles.
