at the weekend I had this sudden dancefloor flashback to a party years ago. real earworm moment. I couldn’t remember the title initially. Thought it was love street but no that was the doors. funny how your memory plays tricks. might well’ve been Bill Brewster or Joey Negro on the wheels. Fair to say Dimitri really nailed this remix.

Respect Is Burning used to run a monthly night at Fuse club in Brussels. Bob Sinclar and his Africanism sound, DJ Deep, DJ Gregory, etc. all played regulary. So many great nights. But when Dimitri played this edit for the first time, he brought tears of joy i’ll never forget. Such an excellent selector.

Some more anthems of that period:

This post reminded me of this incredible version of Wichita Lineman that clocks in at 42 minutes!

Every once in a while i listen to Marc Mac’s (4 Hero) sideproject from 1994. Overwhelming afterclub techno at it’s finest.

It’s good, but not AS good, alas. These guys are from my hometown (they’re what remains of the late, lamented Acetone, whose stuff has been reissued over the last few years). I’ve got a vinyl 12" of them doing a 50 minute version of ā€œRock Your Babyā€ that’s pretty great, and there’s some other stuff floating around on Soundcloud that’s pretty great. As this is one of my first posts I’m not sure what the ethics of sharing MP3 or FLAC things on here, but I’d be happy to make available what I’ve got if permissible (esp since they’re neither on Bandcamp nor otherwise in print)
