Yes. Amazing tune. I just put this on my wishlist: [![](https://a0.cdn.hhv.de/items/images/generated/970x970/01402/1402476/1-norma-winstone-gilles-peterson-presents.webp) ](https://a0.cdn.hhv.de/items/images/generated/970x970/01402/1402476/1-norma-winstone-gilles-peterson-presents.webp) The “Gilles Peterson Presents” release by Norma Winstone documents a live performance from the legendary Maida Vale Studios and combines classic jazz tradition with contemporary band dynamics. The LP brings together five tracks—“Edge Of Time,” “Azimuth,” “The Tunnel,” “Sirens’ Song,” and “2081”—and gives Norma Winstone’s clear, nuanced voice space for intimate improvisation and precise phrasing. Over the course of her more than fifty-year career, Norma Winstone has worked with trailblazers such as Joe Harriott, Michael Garrick, and Ian Carr’s Nucleus, and here she brings her finely tuned sense of melody and text setting to the fore. ---

[![](https://img.youtube.com/vi/jnDHgQ4Xw6o/maxresdefault.jpg "Neil Young & The Chrome Hearts - Soon I Might Be Going (Official Audio)") ](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jnDHgQ4Xw6o) I doubt many here will listen to this new 9 minute track by 80 year old Neil young, but it has totally floored me today for a number of reasons. I was born the year Harvest came out - my Dad played it in the house all the time and it was the first music I really ever heard. There were no Beatles, Stones or Elvis in our house - it was all Dylan and Young and similar folk rock troubadours. 55 years on, and his music still resonates with me. This track from his 45th studio album is a reflection upon mortality, simpler times, climate change, politics, consumerism and love - all in one song. Young’s distinctive voice is now revealing a fragility that comes with many years of use, but still holds a strength, especially when underpinned by the monstrous distorted guitar tone accompanying it. This song not only effected me with it’s reflections on humanity, but reminded me I don’t have much time left with my old man and, like many families have to a degree, there are unresolved things between us that the lyrics really reminded me need sorting before it’s too late. ---

I saw Jimi Tenor perform in Sydney when this album came out in a basement room supported by The Avalanches when they were still a shouty Beastie Boys type act. Jimi was fantastic - he rocked a cape on stage like nobody’s business. “Take Me, Baby’” ---
