It was an actual factual human being I spoke to. She passed me to a colleague in the end. I could hear their exchange before the call was handed over.

I have to have my retinas screened every six months. Fit and reasonably healthy, but I have T1 Diabetes. Go figure. My Pancreas just said “nope” one day and that was that.

See it all the time, I work in a hospital and the level of incompetence from seniors in managerial and operational roles still takes my breath away. No one ever gets the boot either, just shifted to another role on the same salary of course.
