The Health Kick (Inside)

Mrs and the Wac Pac have been doing native American sweat lodge ceremonies for a few years now,it helps with serious addiction mainly Heroin and other opioids. That was her main reason for getting into it and all good so far…I’ve never been as it’s her thing and she said I wouldn’t take it seriously lol a bit of a ceremony before with having a stone given to you to keep with you at all times and chanting, drumming ect. This Saturday it’s being held at a lake near our house and the crew are all staying here after as it’s to cold to camp after being in a sauna :grimacing:
You be a fun night to say the least…

Just joined a gym pt.18.

My daughter has swim training for 90 minutes, three times a week. I usually spend my time sitting in reception listening to music/sorting out tracks for the show. I figured out that I can still do some of that and get 30-45 mintes in at the gym upstairs, to at least get back into some sort of shape

Lets see how long i can last this time…

(Could be in the 2024 thread )
Aside from diet, exercise & moderation / sobriety sleep is also really important

I ‘try’ be be in bed reading ( no phone) by 9 & can be asleep by 945

(although this week been waking at 5 after a dredful nights sleep which I suspect is because Ive had 3 weeks of drinking my body isnt used to sleeping sober)

So I did 3.5 months from Aug to Christmas with no booze or associated calling of certain numbers. Funnily enough felt much better. Had a few big nights out over Christmas and wow, the hangover was real. Thought I might die of a heart attack too. Now back to no booze and am going to stick to a daily fast between 8pm and at least noon the next day and try to exercise a bit too. Sticking to thc for enjoyment and no doubt some nice e or wonky choc for a rare night out out. It’s booze and chisel that are no friend of a 50+ bloke. Only took me 30 odd years to work that out.

And as I said on the other thread, I’m going to listen to more dub too!

2024 sorted.

How did it go/is going?

mop I 50.,~

Started this week. Full war on sugar. Getting out more too. All very necessary. How to stay positive is another matter, but it’s a start…

Regularly get burned off by a 74 old with 4 stents fitted at Hackney Marshes. He’s a sub 28 minutes runner.

Any other North London TP Parkrunners out there? I bounce between Hackney Marsh, Finsbury Park and Highbury Fields.

Sugar and bread is a game changer…

Ah yeah this should definitely go in here sorry. The processed meat thing in the program is nuts as is the change in life expectancy after only 8 2”weeks of eating plant based.

Need to sort my lunch game out, being in work most days again is not good nutritionally. Or audibly come to that. Like a morgue at times and that aint good health wise either.

Still going. I am quite a stubborn, disciplined old bugger when i want/need to be. Also virtually zero social media/internet over Christmas, but lots of real life interactions which has been nice. 6 years off the booze too.

It’s been mentioned above but I have been taking Lion’s Mane for a year and honestly the benefits are there. Less joint pain and I use my glasses less and less. I also feel sharper.

Good effort.

I’ve been taking it for a month and I’m noticing some benefits I have to say.

It’s relatively easy to grow your own too. I found it pretty hard/expensive to get a good quality suppliment (in the UK), so went down this route. Lovely tasting mushrooms too.

I found that I got more from the extract than the pills so maybe the grow your own is the best route forward.
