Saw them play it in a tv studio when Deserter’s Songs was released. Myself and a very small audience standing in a circle around the band. Powerful stuff.

Billy Bragg has written so many songs with poignant lyrics, but for me this tribute to his dad gets me every time. If my kids chose to play this for me when I’m gone, I would be honoured.
