This is exactly what they do for comic books, you get it professionally graded and then you can never touch it again - it just becomes an object for trading. It’s gross isn’t it? ---

Exactly. I’m aware of it in comics and trading cards so it’s not a big leap to apply the concept to records. I just didn’t know it was a thing and it’s bloody awful obviously. ---

Arguably it makes sense for trading cards (you can still look at them) (although trading cards themselves make no sense) and for super-rare museum-piece records, comic books etc. But you know it won’t ever stop there. ---
