this is one that tied a lot of the shit early me liked, together. drum machines, abstract lyrics, late-era classic rock guys, excellent production. played either hella early or way late.
yeah, that’s very well put into words about how I feel about this song too
there’s something very special about the era (late 70s - early 80s) when analog went into digital and music still felt warm with the modern technology of those days
I can’t believe nobody has made a Balearic edit of Robert Plant’s “Big Log” - or have they?
Nails the brief IMO
If non english works then here’ my submission for Brazil:
Lovely.
I love Criança too. She’s got that Linda Di Franco balearic voice going on.
So good. He had great hair too.

I did a mixtape, ‘Næturvakt Bylgjunar 1987’, that has mostly this sound. It did the rounds on the blogs back in ye olden times. Some poppy ones, some rarer ones, and a couple of Icelandic gems.
Gonna add some youtube links here too later, I have a ginormous playlist with this stuff.
I did a cutup thing back in the day, not sure if it’s Balearic? Very influenced by The Field at any rate.
Upbeat but something that grips the heart underneath:
