My house was close to the beginning of the circular cross country run. Very handy indeed. You just had to make sure you were suitably red and sweaty when you joined back in an hour later. Didn’t pose too many problems for a 15yr old.
Also, I remember mitre multiplex footballs. My cousins in Derby called leather balls ‘caseys’, and my freind Neil Wilson, a talented right winger with a searching cross, had Patrick Cordobas which had light blue stripes. He played for Winkney Farm. They got some stick obviously.

They were/are called caseys in Manchester as well, played many a game of ‘Headers & Volleys’, ‘3 & You’re In’, ‘Longies’, ‘Fly Goalie’, ‘Keepy Uppy’ etc etc with various caseys over my childhood

I’m still scarred from passing to the keeper in a school tournament and him slipping on the divot riddled mud bath we had for a pitch as the ball trickled into the net.

Was terrible at sport and was stuck in as goalie in my year’s F team (a repository for the nerds, outcasts & fatties, press ganged into sporting activity). Loved Subbuteo though

A ball made of rolled up socks. Being the only boy not wearing an adidas t-shirt as my mum insisted on sending me to primary school in white shirt, grey v neck jumper and elasticated tie!

My kid beat me 9-1 the other night so maybe I should give you his username so you can get a decent game. My 1 was scored when he was playing it at the back giving me a chance. He played as West Ham and I was Real Madrid. Nightmare.

My daughter got these last week Mexico 66 . (Fake from China) along with some very good quality hoodies, jeans and shirts…
Very occasionally play it with my daughter on the Xbox but never played it online.
