This is great. Never heard the original before. Was listening to the Unabombers edit the other day.

I think I heard Moonboots play this the one time I’ve actually seen him and it sounded like most Balearic thing I’d ever heard.

Back in '94, an Irish guy I knew had a mate come over from his hometown to holiday here in Sydney. He brought a crate of records with him and we were introduced, as I was able to sort him out with a few bar gigs. One of the records he had with him was a white label promo of A Zed & 2L’s. At the time, I hadn’t really heard anything as perfect come out of the downbeat scene that was going on at the time (I refuse to call it Tr_p H_p).

He was kind enough to loan it to me to play at a fantastic gig on an island in the middle of Sydney Harbour that my mates put on semi regularly. I’ll never forget playing it in that setting, and I’m pretty confident in saying it had never been heard on Australian soil before that moment.

Suffice to say, it was the perfect occasion for what I still maintain is an incredibly important and brilliant record. Also that day, I made a tit of myself trying to converse with Burnt Friedman whilst coming up on a pill, but that’s another story for another time.
