Released this year, it is one of the best songs of the year for me, and I think it would work perfectly in a Balearic set at just the right moment
The first album was brilliantā¦
I picked up my 16yr old from college at lunchtime on the last day of term a couple of weeks ago. Took him for a pizza in a country pub. On the journey home he suggested putting some tunes on and plugged his ipad in.
A tune came on that sounded Fleetwood Mac-ish but new to me. It was this and it was wonderful. Thank you son.
Say thank you to your son from me, Iām liking that
Letās keep this thread going in the new year with another classic
cool, but the idea is to post things that arenāt blatantly Balearic, hence the topic heading being a question.
I kind of assume this one is blatantly Balearic, but I only discovered it recently and have no idea where I heard it, so if someone can tell me āOh yeah, thatās on Cosmic Alphonus vol 528ā, Iād really appreciate it.
Bit of a stretch if you heard it on a recent release, but its on this Blank & Jones comp from 2015:
All digital on Bandcamp.
Iāve got the compilation vinyl after years of pining for some of their weirdness
You could be more than you are was the track that got me into them- played by some moody old Spanish DJ in Fox Congo- a legendary bar in Valencia in the early 90s- crazy place with a huge long underlit marble bar and abstract toilets
They look great, being 80s German models, and canāt sing for fuck
Making them Ultra Balearic
āSaada Bonaire: For when Grace Jones just isnāt nearly enoughā¦ā
Brilliant
First heard this on a beautiful swimmers mix a long time back. Totally fits the bill for me Supertramp - Cannonball [Extended LP Version] - YouTube
Definitely. Was a bit of a weirdo spin on 33 but totally does the business in the club on 45.
Some ultra-French pop earworm I heard on the motorway to Toulouse on Friday. Draw your own conclusions
