Is It Balearic? Well is it?

I know the Hill Street Blues theme is a Balearic classic ( cheers Alfredo ) but I nominate LA Law as a proper Balearic anthem …synth drone intro , horns , strings and 80’s drums all put together by Mike Post .

I was about to add: the extended version on the 12 is epicly vibey. Often spotted in bargain bins and car boot fairs.

I love bigger the punch from the same album. Walter Becker production. He did it so well.

Yeah it still sound’s great unlike a lot of 80s pop records

The US version sounds pretty Balearic without the rock guitar.

My partners first time Ibiza late 90s after me trying to convince her that it’s not like Ibiza Uncovered as that was all she knew of at the time we started going out and I was already one of those self titled season veterans because I done two summers 94 and 95 there eating ham and chesse baguettes  We arrived in the evening and went straight to cafe del Mar, Jose played Time after Time instrumental and she’s been back every year since without even going to any clubs…

Guilty of the worlds first selfie…

Did it get posted already? It is something of a go to for me since I recorded it off the Chart Show - unfortunately couldn’t find the original video.

My Mrs used go to The Albany Empire in Deptford on a Friday night regularly for a night called The Whole of The Moon, around 90/91 possibly earlier, sure it was Andy Nicholls, Nancy Noise & Tony Wilson (the London 1 not Manchester…ie Anthony).
Anyhow she seems to remember this being a regular tune…any one else go?

Forever Fav!!!

Didn’t actually know the original version. I do remember Dean Thatcher ending the night at Most Excellent in MCR with this version though

Ah thank you for that. Another one identified for me. The only place I had heard this is on the “for that night in east grinstead” mix by some lot called soft rocks. Came free with the early boys own repress T-shirt’s a few years back. Great mix and still very regularly played in this house.

Any remember who done the version of Shout that was on the first Freddy Fresh essential mix probably 20+ years ago?

Was reminded of this earlier elsewhere l, which I’d completely forgotten about, tbh

Chile, 1993 - sounds like a direct lift of Happy Mondays’ “Tart Tart”!
