Indeed. I can still remember my old.man driving me into Oxford aged 9 and surprising us by buying the Spectrum 48k.

Farewell Sir Clive!

loading up chess games on the ZX81 my Dad bought took hours haha. it was so sensitive that with a single jolt you would lose everything. my intro to tech as a 7 year old!

Ahead of the game on electric bikes though!

Thats so mad how future that is.

So sad about the passing of Michael K. Williams. What a great, no more than great actor he was. And what a great scene this is

A friend sent this to me (I’m not on Instagram anymore) and I’ve been watching it every morning when I get up. A true king.

Used to try and code games on my step Dad’s spectrum, used to get the code typed out in magazines, mind bendingly boring, and if you made one error whole thing was fucked. Think I decided then I wasn’t nerd material and went for a ride on my bike to try and find some nudie mags in the woods.

YES! I remember those from the back of the computer mags in the early 80’s.

I’m still deeply moved and delighted at all the Norm MacDonald clips and tributes on youtube.
Bob Saget is also an unheralded genius and a genuinely lovely man (his podcast is great, so positive). He was one of Norm’s closest buddies and this is a great tribute.

I always liked the idea of the cabs more than their music, but their influence on electronic music is I think undeniable. A sad loss.

this is kind of a big one for me. i’m not the biggest cabs fan or anything - but i adored the fact that RHK records always sounded so distinctly him. it really didn’t matter what style of music he was making, you could always tell - if it was a bit wonky, a bit muted, had an odd sample, and maybe a little more rhythmically complex then necessary - it was RHK.

gonna pull out my alphaphone records and enjoy.

Wasn’t XON collaboration with Rob Gordon not Parrot?

The Hypnotized video is ace.

Nice write up.
