But thanks for your time
Then you can thank me for mine
And after that’s said
Forget it
wild - what a career.
RIP Sixto Rodriguez. An Artist that I had not heard about before I moved to Australia in the late 80’s. He was quite big over here (despite what you might have been led to believe by the film) in general, but especially within the biker community. I have a fond memories of seeing lots of large burly bikey types singing along to his sensitive lyrics at live gigs over the years. A lovely soul.
Damn, Jamie Reid.
That’s terrible
I’ve never been a fan of The Band, but I was real sad to hear of Robbie Robertson passing. His work with the Red Road Ensemble celebrating Native American/Indian music was significant and I also really liked his Storyville album.
Here’s a clip that also resonated.
Song from Storyville. Thematically enhanced one might say.
Thematically appropriate. If you don’t know the true story of the ghost dance, look it up.
Not just an old rocker.
Unfairly maligned imo, always loved his verse on this.
A great one. That whole first Missy album is a stunner all the way through.
RIP.
Purple Aki
Fake news sadly.

another one of those guys that i have a lot of respect for - but his fans? not as much.
this is a surprisingly solid record:
He touched so many people in so many ways…
‘dream weaver’ was everywhere when i was a kid, but we all know that ‘love is alive’ was the real jam.
