In Memoriam…

Very sad news, thanks for sharing.
I had them interviewed when they first came over to the UK. There was a Vinyl Junkies connection with the band as they used the empty shop to rehearse when they played London 2002ish.

I was playing Midnight Marauders a couple of weeks ago at Spiritland, still sounds great.

RIP - he made some great beats.

Saw them at Kokos 2005 using some spare last minute tickets. Didn’t know much about them and was blown away. RIP

Caught them at the Roadhouse n Manc around the time Marauders was getting hammered. Proper dark and smoky but great vibe. Just totally unique sound. Very sad news.

I spent a new years in NZ many a moon ago and they played a show on the South Island that was incredible. All improvised (they were basically a jam band) and it went on for 3+ hours. Ended up quite happy at the hotel and everyone else went to bed and I was sitting outside and a large gentleman sat next to me and it was Mu. Chatted for a few hours and what a lovely man he was.

Malcolm Jamal Warner

I can’t have been the only 80s suburban white kid who thought Theo Huxtable was the bees knees.

Ah man, that’s sad news.

Eamon Downes aka Liquid
This definitely rattled a few dance floors (and still does I’m sure)

I love the Cosby Show. I know Bill Cosby turned out to be an asshole and a creep, but Dr. Huxtable was cool and that show was awesome, especially due to good performances from actors like MJW. Very sad he died so tragically and so young.

I unashamedly loved the Cosby Show

Yeah, my dad hated me watching it, said Cosby was an Uncle Tom, had no idea what he meant. (My dad is white btw)

I’m the same. I like some of that cheesy Rave stuff now more than I ever did at the time! Although I still think Insanity by Oceanic is absolute dog :unamused:

Marco Dionigi passed away. You may know him from his solo work or his productions with Daniele Baldelli. He was prolific.

At the tail end of lockdown, the Spanish authorities finally let gigs resume, albeit with strict distancing conditions. Such was our thirst for music - any music - we found ourselves getting tickets to see a black sabbath tribute act.

It was slightly surreal being there, confined to these equidistant chairs, like you were in an exam room, with all these hairy rockers sat down around you, ordering beers from a waiter, or getting chaperoned to the toilets. Most of the music gave me a headache tbh, but planet caravan made up for it. If i could make something a tenth as good as that, I’d die a happy man. So haunting and magical.

Love Sabbath and love Ozzy, but Sharon is a vile individual.
