Hauls Found Today

Was trying to persuede my mate to by that very Vangelis pressing last weekend but he turned his nose up…

" Only one decent track - not worth it " was his response

He will regret it I am sure …

I played it on youtube, thought it was great also. Going to be a tough find.

I love the whole album, start to end. It’s got three real crackers on that album - as well as Let It Happen, I love We Were All Uprooted and My Face In The Rain.

£20 but it’s in excellent nick

to be completely honest this is more quantity over quality, but the prices were so good that i couldn’t resist.

glad i didn’t chase this down when it was first released as i don’t like it as much as the first one, but it was cheap and maybe it’ll grow on me.

bought for the vapourspace mix. had their first single (which had orbital and drum club mixes on it) and never played it sold it years ago. this might meet the same fate.

feels like DNH records are underrated. lots of good ones, maybe people were just put off by the single-color artwork.

something to play next to that DNH record.

mole listening pearls was an odd label - i’ve got a few of them but didn’t follow them closely. took a chance on a bunch of them, i’m sure there’s some decent tracks to be found in here. again, condition on all this stuff is damn near perfect, so if i have to turn them around and ship them off, that’s not the worst thing in the world.

anyway, glad my wife wasn’t home when i brought all this stuff through the door.

Picked up these two yesterday at Criminal Records & HiFi in Ossett. Been after both for while. Padlock looks unplayed and Blue Nile sounds so good on 12”.

I think I only picked this up as the original price sticker was from a long gone shop in the mall opposite the charity shop I was stood in.
40 years after coming out it had been in someone’s collection then ended up across the road from where it was first bought!

Also got this for £5

Someone had been let loose with a price gun, no clue and access to Discogs so they had cheapo (£1-2) 12”a priced at £6 or £8

Got the train into town for a wander around Pimlico car boot and got this for £3, along with a couple of other Latin records. Sounds absolutely fantastic despite being 65 years old, and has some killer Latin/Exotica tunes on it.

First on grass boot sale of disapointment.

Bought the BBC comp from a dealer for a deal when it was still warm from being dug out for a quid. Tommorows world theme may hit the spot.

Got the last three in the week for £3 something a go as well as some expensive stuff. Do find paying real money for collectable records embarrasing and a bit of a fail so I don’t post those records.

I’m a big fan of that Denton and Cook LP - Hong Kong Theme is basically a rip off of Pink Floyd. Tomorrow’s World Theme is cool and Great Egg Race is almost cosmic disco!

Rah Band is a great find - never see it around any more.

Edit: And the Easy Life 12” is great - Jive Turkey mix. Big record from my younger days.

Here is a picture with some notes. I found the other cabs mix in a early hauls thread and I should really have a lot more of this stuff on the lists. (edit, I’m not a visual record covers person so the notes are clipped)

Quiller is great too. This album used to sell for 20 to 30 quid a few years ago believe it or not.

This dealer is part of the Hitchin and Letchworth collectives and does have a very good eye and ear. Nothing expensive goes into the Hitchin store as it gets stolen but he let me have it for £9 after I pushed him up from £8…the banter was first the classic “I don’t want to sell it”.

Nice score! I need to get that Blue Nile 12!

The instrumental of Heatwave is very nice too. I love finding things out in the wild. Padlock was in the middle of a load of reggae 12"s.

The thought of The Great Egg Race being almost cosmic disco has been my happy thought on the Monday bike ride to work. Brilliant!

And here it is in the flesh - have a great week folks:
