Was just about to post this. Tune. Remember hearing it for the first time, it was Dam-Funk’s first time in the UK, a Wednesday night at Deviation. He played it amongst a load of boogie and funk, sounded so good.
Never heard him spin but liking the sound of this
This being my pick from Vincent’s latest ep.
Late on this but I’m pretty sure that these are made by Chris Energy
You’re kidding? I do hope not😂
Then again he once told me he had stuff out on KDJ and Moodymann ripped him off.
I think it is him. Now, anyone fancy taking on the task of reissuing them?
I had a good root about after your other post and am convinced you must be mistaken.
Not only is there seemingly no link on 'cogs but having gone thru a lot of CEs’s early releases I really can’t see how someone would progress from producing beautiful sample-free, delicate, hi-tech jazz, to quite crude, sample heavy, pots & pans production…
I don’t find it that much of stretch to link Detroit influenced techno and releasing dnb on Reinforced, but maybe you’re right
I think it needs an experienced industry insider, perhaps with a track record of reissuing Mystical gems.
If it doesn’t work out I’m sure it will make a cracking article
Wasn’t he supposed to be Kirk smith ? Maybe ?
I see another guy called George Kelly on the label - he was in One tribe -what have you done - that killer breakbeat anthem from 91
as far as I can tell Kirk Smith is one of his monikers but everything seems to be written by Sullivan
Absolutely love Fresh and Low. Too good!!
Had a night of floaty Bangers on Sunday at Mano le tough gig… No link yet for a big piano track that took the roof off… Simon Hinter - Perfume . Coming out soon
Its on the latest Fish Go Deep radio show - its got that lovely slightly mournful quality of the very best floaty bangers
That’s it…
Lovely track that. As @docstushi says, it has that little bit of melancholy to give some edge to the arms in the air feel. Do you know when it’s out?
