Reverse cover version discovery confession time: I never knew until the other day that Private Life was a Pretenders record (sounds too Grace to be anyone else). And I only found out last night that this was a Steely Dan record. Bad me for not reading the liner notes.

Same (ish), I knew the Pretenders version but always just presumed they were the ones that had covered it, as it’s such a perfect Grace Jones record.
