Went all-in with the DCX464 for highs/mids and 12fh520 woofers for the MEH horns, with 18SW118s for the tapped horns.
I haven’t had the rig out in full flight yet, but so far it sounds great

Did anyone go to GALA festival and hear Floating Points’ system?
A friend christened their new dub soundsystem build last night. Big stack, set to be tripled in size in the coming months/year. Grabbed a quick shot when the lights came on and the crowd gave space:
[AFAIK: double loaded (21s?) paraflex subs, mids running maybe JBL2226s, and rebuilt turbosound tops (modified tms3?)]

This rig represents an eye watering financial outlay.
Yeah but props for building it and making events that strip back to the fundamentals. Good music, good sound and simplicity (if you can call it simplicity). Turntables, speakers and a tent are a pretty great combination.
Also: I shudder to think of the weight of that system!

i just got back from the serpentine, great new peter doig exhibition, with two wild soundsystems set up in it, they’re going to be playing music during the whole thing, and a series of other people playing stuff at the weeeknd too. – worth booking if you’re going to go to one of the sessions.

The bottom one is Phil from Payfone’s brothers system which was ripped out of an old cinema.
That’s right, Laurence Passera. He is the great Western Electric treasure hunter. He has recovered quite a large collection of 30’s WE sound equipment, and completely restored them. This gear is crazy sought after. d_s_p.london

I’ve come across his instagram page before (that mastaf just posted), it’s got pics of some of the cinemas etc. – I don’t know much about him/ and didn’t know his brothers music project (I’ll have a listen).
