The first track - disco steppers is the one I was trying to post.
Nice.
New edition of a brilliant 2019 release. I love Kali and a good proper organ, especially if in a church or cathedral with heavenly acoustics. I’m trying my dad’s old contacts to do a bit of recording in the magnificent cathedral in Kirkwall, Orkney.
Also, this variation Kali did of the (equally) talented Caterina Barbieri’s Fantas. The kind of thing you wouldn’t notice in the background, but is hauntingly beautiful when fully immersed in.
Wow, I like this a lot.
Great to see this old Playhouse classic from 2002 getting a digital revival.
I last heard this out at a Low Life (Bill prob?) but thats at least a decade ago.
Fantastic tune ![]()
Brilliant record. Love the weird drum machine version (track 3)…
There’s often a magic that only exists when the fairer sex create electronic music, and this is no exception. Marija Rasa from Brussels records as Emer - languid dub and hazy dreamworlds are her trade, and I dig it.
Just saw a post about this album described as “if the Penguin Cafe Orchestra left the green fields of Blighty behind and moved to an ashram, they’d probably sound like this.” that was enough to hook me in…
I would say the majority of new(ish) electronic/experimental music I listen to is made by female artists. Good music is good music (and this is possibly one of the reasons I still like music of mysterious origins). Thankfully the culture has and is changing, albeit slowly.
Sparky is back with release no#2. Won’t hang around I’m sure.
