There was definitely a psychadelic (though non-acid) vibe to late 80s house. [![](https://img.youtube.com/vi/_p-o3HSxudw/hqdefault.jpg "Trybe Psychedelic Shack") ](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_p-o3HSxudw) and https://www.youtube.com/embed/D8xDt2QOHgA?feature=oembed&wmode=opaque ---

> [@Lets hear your mixes](https://forum.testpressing.org/t/lets-hear-your-mixes/426/1889): > > Got in the wonky mood and pressed record the other night. Impromptu mix of disco, Italo, house inspired vibrations. Turned out really nicely I think. Compared to what usually happens when the record button is pressed. ---

Sly Mongoose/Snakes & Ladder (Rub n Tug mix) for the psych house list. [![](https://img.youtube.com/vi/dmCV_1niEO8/hqdefault.jpg "Sly Mongoose - Snakes And Ladder (Rub N Tug Remix)") ](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dmCV_1niEO8) ---

I did an [edit of this](https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/fr2tr0ptvuh1d3m11ku99/Sly-Mongoose-Snakes-And-Ladder-Rub-N-Tug-Remix-Apiento-Edit.wav?rlkey=bg2jlb7w5mvt8z8b4r621m8dv&st=73ww03ji&dl=0) (I’ll leave it here for a minute) if anyone wants it… My gf does that ‘pretends to take a shot’ thing whenever I say ‘i did an edit of that’ when something comes on that I er… you get the gist… ---

Fair point. The breakdown and following couple of minutes are the psych bit. Before the piano comes back and it’s “just” a killer house tune again. ---

https://bandcamp.com/EmbeddedPlayer/v=2/album=154410406/size=large/tracklist=false/artwork=small/ Hard to know exactly what is going on with Boothroyd at any moment, last time I looked he was playing ZZ Top at an Evian Christ trance party. This pay what you like EP is beautiful though, autumnal Spanish guitar and soaring Roedelius style synths.
