The most unhinged part of COVID for me was the queue at the Tesco’s in Leith. People absolutely loosing their shit all over the place, guys getting lifted by the Police and huckled into the back of the van, grown adults fighting over queue jumping, scraps over bananas. Wild!

I couldn’t work so did a 6 month stint in a Test & Trace Centre, sworn at , spat at, threatened with all kinds of violence, called baby killers, mostly because men wouldn’t wear masks. Never seen such unhinged behaviour.

Tesco in Leith at one point had the one way system in operation. I walked past something and turned around to go back up the aisle and some fing jobsworth shelf ‘ambient replenishment executive’ told me I’d have to go around again, and when I protested and pointed at it literally two feet away he came out with ‘well if you think you’re too important to follow the same rules as everyone else we can have you removed’

“We can have you removed” is a line you never want to hear in Leith. Even (especially) if it’s uttered by someone wearing a Tesco badge!
In all honesty, I’ve only ever experienced fun in that neck of the woods though. Many laughs.

Just before lockdown I was wandering around an empty Tesco Metro in Southwark, London. The only thing they had on the shelves was Kombucha and the only other customer was the actor Andrew Scott.
