In 1974, Masahisa Fukase took a photo of his wife, Yōko Wanibe, each morning from their Tokyo apartment as she went to work.
He went on to make photos of lonely ravens to illustrate his despair after his divorce!
Jeez - way to bring the room down! I didn’t know that - will look up more info
Fantastic
Sorry to kill the vibe, she looks like a fun lady, with good taste in footwear!
I got an old Pentax ME with a 50mm lens for £50 up here from a guy selling a load of old camera for the first time in 25 years, back when I was skateboarding. In great condition as the guy took care of all his stuff. Well chuffed. And another reason to spend less time on my phone.
Apart from anything, old SLRs are just beautiful pieces of machinery, probably the most perfect engineering you can buy aside from watches (and they don’t take pictures)
Definitely. And we take these things for granted when you have a HD quality camera in our phones. Great for photos of my nephews, although it can get too much, and I love them deeply.
Me and my best friend at time (the one that has basically become a hermit) used to have a double period of Art for the last two classes on a Wednesday. We both took photography which I loved and we both would get free reign to go out of school with a couple of SLR’s, quite often at the right time of year we would pick and eat psilcybe sems. But we got away with not returning to start the developing as we were friendly with our Art teacher and the photography lab dude. When not tripping we would happily spend our free time with them and learning.
Also being spending quite a bit of time going through 100 odd photo albums with my Dad which he loves and will have stories for almost all the photos. I almost forgot he has dementia and he is in his element.
