My partner has a basic understanding of birdsong and tone. She’ll be like “hey quick we should clean up that mess, your parents are coming to the door”. And it’s because she heard the birds change to a specific song when my parents dog got out of the car.
It may or may not have to do with when she was a small child and they got a pet budgie called Chablis. Determined to bond with her new friend she sat down for hours at a time with a little notebook trying to learn it’s tiny bird language.
Ah man that birdsong one got me doubled over .
