Bloody hell.

JUNE 1984.

I set the VHS recorder for a late night recording - gone midnight here in the UK and this is the premiere on our Channel Four, or is it 4?, of the video from FRANKIE GOES TO HOLLYWOOD for their new single TWO TRIBES.

I had my first ‘mixing experience’ with Two Tribes when I discovered that it was exactly the same tempo as Blue Monday.
I had a mobile disco console with non-varispeed decks, and my party piece was to run the two tracks together in their entirity, cutting between them with only minimal fiddling about.

Wow, Identity, that’s certainly a blast from the past. I wonder what Leo’s doing these days?

You can see him in the pic, in the window between John and Ian.

I picked up the FGTH re-releases (and remixes) in '93 when they reissued the hits but thought TT was the one that hadn’t aged as well

I have one stuck to my 'puter, Mrs asked me what it was all about, I explained all about Josephine, Balearic moments etc, she said 'Oh I thought it was rhyming slang for ‘have you got any gear’ ’ now I feel stupid.

Is it rhyming slang? Not sure there’s such a thing as Balearic Chisel. I always just assumed it was Josephine etc.
